About Rita Wood

My roots are on the East Coast. New York City to be exact—as an artist and illustrator. I navigated my way through the corporate advertising bullpens of Manhattan. I worked from the ground up, creating nuts and bolts layouts and doing illustrations for everything from tires and refrigerators to fashion and food. It was all about speed.

After relocating to California and embracing a mellower pace, I steered my way
into assignments requiring more conceptual development, brainstorming for
and coming up with fresh branding and advertising campaigns. From creating
rough drawings to approved files, I did it all - consistently developing effective
marketing strategies and, dare I say, having some fun along the way.

Then computers rocked my world. I embraced gigabytes, jpegs and pixels as
revolutionary design tools. The digital era set my left brain on fire. I was now
able to create and manage a project until it was perfect.

In 1997, after years of on-staff experience with ad agencies and corporations,
I ventured out on my own. I now have the honor and privilege of working one
on one with my clients, both large and small. When the deadline is ridiculously
tight, when the job is jumbo and no one has time, or the concept needs a little
tweaking, my phone rings.
